C-Crew Responds to Roll Over

Bangor firefighters remove Robin Lay from a sport utility vehicle in which she was a passenger after the vehicle left the highway and rolled over at mile 182 on Interstate 95 northbound in Bangor on Monday. David Leith and Lay were traveling north in a Chevy Blazer with Connecticut plates when Leith became distracted, Maine State Police Trooper Trevor Snow said. Leith tried to stay in the travel lane but overcorrected and ended up in the soft shoulder on the right of the roadway. The SUV rolled over multiple times and landed on its roof, Snow said. Lay was pinned in the vehicle for more than a half-hour and had to be removed by firefighters, Snow said. Leith and Lay suffered minor injuries and were taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Snow said Leith had been working in the area but he didn’t know for how long. The vehicle was filled with personal items, such as clothing and a television, that were thrown from the SUV when it crashed.
